Abstract
Social media addiction among school adolescents is a significant problem, affecting their social behavior and interaction skills in the real world. This study aims to explore the effectiveness of applying self-management techniques in a behavioral approach to reduce social media addiction. The research method used is a systematic literature review (SLR) with the PRISMA approach, resulting in seven relevant articles that were analyzed in depth. Self-management techniques involve self-management procedures such as self-monitoring, positive reinforcement, and stimulus mastery, allowing adolescents to control their behavior independently. The results of the analysis show that this technique is effective in reducing social media addiction, increasing self-observation, and reducing dependence on counselors. With a practical and inexpensive approach, self-management techniques can be a strategic alternative for school counselors to help adolescents overcome social media addiction and build more positive behavior.
